I really liked this project and really like hyper docs! They are easy to learn form and neat. I want to use them more often. I loved this project!

Wonder Blog Post

The Grade 6's are reading this book called Wonder. Wonder is about this boy (Auggie) that was born and had a problem with his face, when hes in grade 5 he starts school for the first time who starts school for the first time and is nervous he will have no friends and everyone will tease him.


Auggie's first school is Beacher Prep, he goes to the school a few days before the first day of school to get introduced to the principle and for some of the kids to show him around. Charlotte, Jack and Julian show Auggie around. Julian is really rude and asks him questions like, ''Did your face get burned by a fire?'' or "This is a rubber! You do know what a rubber is?" When Auggie starts hes first day at school he meets this boy named Jack, Auggie and Jack become best friends! Then they meet this girl named Summer. Jack, Auggie and Summer start a friendship group. I feel I'm most like Summer because of her bubbly personalty and care for others. The author of this book is Raquel J. Palacio. This book has definitely changed me, now I am more aware of how much one word can impact someone so much. One saying that stays with me from the book is, "Choose kind.''


You should read this book as it is life changing!

Stop motion project- King Strawberry

The Grade 6's are doing a superhero stop motion project. It is so much fun! we have to make a stop motion with a villain and a hero.We do many fun tasks linked to the stop motion. The one project we did was a dress up day. We had to dress up as our favorite hero or villain. I dressed up as blossom (Shes my favorite.)  This project is great because it teaches you independence and time management. Back to the actual project, my partner is Hannah she is so easy to work with and has an open mind. Our stop motion is about a potato wanting to eat an innocent strawberry. I find this project amazing!

The Little Mermaid.

We have just started doing rehearsals for The Little Mermaid.
It's really fun doing it with Mrs Van Tonder.
We sing songs and dance! Yay!
I can't believe it is almost opening night!
The characters I am is a sailor and Carlotta.
I am so excited for the show!

Poetry ILT

Poetry ILT

We did a poetry ILT last week. ILT means integrated learning task. The group i was in was amazing Josh and Rebecca were in the group.We all had very good ideas, and worked well together. We helped each other with all the tasks. We made good progress and finished everything on time. The poetry slam was my favorite task. This is the poem we rote, 

'' Everyone has a fear, sometimes its the dark, sometimes its the creatures under your bed, getting robbed in the middle of the night, and lots more. Well what really is fear? Fear is a feeling deep inside. sometimes it breaks you but sometimes it builds you. Sometimes we stop and stare. But sometimes we run away. We have to face our fears. don't avoid it.Face it. Look it in the eye. Don't let it control you, you control it. We have to face our fear.''

 

then we all did our own poems on the same topic. Our topic was ocean. The type of poem i did was a cinquain. This is my poem

''Calm unpredictable

crashing swimming surfing

calming for the soul

sea''

  I really enjoyed this ILT and i cant wait till next terms one. But it doesn't stop now because we are going on camp in two days. I am not really exited, as I don't like being away from my parents. 

2017 grade 6

Grade 6! I cant believe I'm in grade 6,my last year in senior primary! My goals are to do the best to my ability, give it my all and be positive.  I get so happy when school starts because I get to socialize and I can eat food whilst socializing. My teacher is Mrs Kent but we have many other teachers. I like the idea of us having different teachers and them coming to our class. I like grade 6 because its a new year for new opportunists. This year i am going to try to get academic honors. This year is a very busy year as i have to plays on. I'm also exited for superhero day, I'm sure it will be very fun. i love grade 6 and will make the best of it. This year is going to be my year!

Science Expo - Jemma

For the science expo I was with Dani P, we had a lot of fun! We lighted peanuts to heat water for our project. We were really nervous when the judge came, and I'm really excited for next years science expo and I hope it's as successful as this year!
